I love AVOCADOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This first picture was sent to me by Mike Davis because he was visiting King's Inn in Kingsville. This is one of their specialities: avocado salad. Note the beautiful color of these babies! And they taste great with their trademark dressing!

This is our lunch on Sunday: an avocado split into halves, shredded chicken on top and BBQ sauce. OHHHH was that good!

Happy Mother's Day! and other cute pics

Happy Mother's to all Wonderful Mothers! I hope you all had a great weekend, with minimal "things to do" or "let someone else do it 'cause this is MY DAY!"

I wanted to post a couple of pics taken over the weekend of Mother's Day: with the animals.

How Mitzcli loves to snuggle up right to your neck...with his little paws sticking out! A warm belly.

Hope you can see this: Buddy the squirrel, eating out of the bird feeder -- no shame! I wasn't able to catch him LITERALLY hanging down with his rear legs holding on to the feeder and food in his little paws...just swinging away while he ate. The funniest sight!

Various Faces of Katy!

This was Katy about 3 years ago.
Here she is just last year when she got her hair cut.
This is the latest picture of her, with bangs. To be quite honest, I think I like her without the bangs...but since when should my opinion count? Ha Ha!

Congratulations to Benjamin Natividad and Efrain Ezequiel Munguia

Congrats Ben, on your degree! I guess I should have put up the one where you're in the sink, as a baby, bathing. Nah.
Congrats EZ! I see you in a little red jumper with those little feet attached to it...in your backyard at home, playing. Sorry I don't have the picture, but I know your dad has it on video!

Love you both!

The Munguia Clan

Here's a rare picture: Dad and his siblings: Tio Pancho, Dad, below him Tia Petra, Tia Josephina, Grandma Paula, Tio Manuel. My dad was soooo young looking then. Don't know the year, but it had to be in the 60s since everyone was still alive. Dad was the youngest in that family, by the way. From what I understand, he was born 14 years after the last one was born (which was Manuel, I believe.) They lost their father before Dad was born (heart attack.) My Grandma Paula died at the age of 99. She had suffered a broken hip and did not recuperate after that. Jr., many thanks for sending this photo. It brought tears to my eyes.

Meli, Mom and Jr.

A rare photo, taken sometime around 1962-63. Me, Mom, and Jr. Wow. Jr., thanks for sending this. I do remember that dress by the way! It was blue. (get a load of that impish smile on Jr...innocent looking my foot!)

Snakes Alive!

I should have known how the rest of the day would turn out when I found a little garden snake...dead...on the sofa table next to the jelly beans. Not having my glasses on, I had to ask Guy what it was -- it looked like a brown string to me! And I knew there was no way in Texas that it could be a snake; one that Astro had played with during the night and finally done whatever cats do to them (besides ingesting them.) After Papi disposed of it, I walked over to the sunroom to give my hugs, kisses and thanks to Astro for that little gift when I happened to look out the window of the sunroom, where my little Saint Francis of Assisi statue was -- in the midst of the rosemary. I noticed what looked like a "thin log" nestled in the midst of the rosemary and the statue. I called Guy over again: "Guy! Come here quick; come here quick; come here quick!"
Now, the whole scenario in a nutshell went like this: Guy and I tried everything to "move the snake." While it finally did move, it went to a corner and coiled itself up. Guy then tried to remove it using a)a brick which he threw at it and completely missed it; b)a piece of wood, with the same outcome; and c)FINALLY! Spraying it with water. It finally slithered away to the next door neighbor's empty backyard. Whew! It was a fast-moving rat snake, about 5 feet long. We now walk around a little more cautiously!

Cute Mitzcli feet under the sheets

His little feet poking out from underneath the sheets...it's always something with this dog...ears poking out, tail poking out.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Hope you all have a great day...Special thanks for my Valentine's Day pal for this cute puppy and chocolates.

Guy and I celebrated a day earlier by his cooking outside a nice steak, hamburgers wrapped with bacon and french fries. Yummy.

Here's a cute pic of little Mitzcli asleep on Papi's warm jacket.

February 2, 2009 - Maria Cortez Munguia

Miss you, Mom. Had a great dream about you 2 nights ago. You were visiting me here where I work (Memorial City Tower) and I was going to ride with you in our elevator to the 27th floor. But you told me to come back for you in a while. When I returned to pick you up, I couldn't find you. I looked everywhere and even asked a friend of mine (that works here) if she'd seen you. She said she had not. I miss you a lot and love you even more. Love and hugs to everyone that's with you.

Nothing else to write about, so I'll place pictures of Mitzcli eating!

Mitzcli, placing his paw on Papi's shoulder, as if to say, "Look, don't feel too bad about what you're eating...I'll help. Just slide it over.
Mitzcli holding Guy down as if to say, "You have to eat everything on your plate...I want you to know how it feels when someone's looking over your shoulder with smoldering looks...Oh, wait! Hi Mommy! Uh, me and Papi are just, uh, watching TV, yeah, that's it."
I'm not sure about this picture...it's just weird how Mitzcli can get into every nook and cranny when food is involved!
