Rude Awakening

Okay, don't know what happened here, but at about 2:30 a.m. Guy and I were awakened by the screamings of little Astro, little quiet Astro, the perfect little lady. And I could hear her "hitting" something while she was screaming! I jumped out of bed (my whole life seems to be me jumping out of bed, etc.)and saw her standing in front of the door leading outside to our backyard. Looking out the window...(it's our sunroom. I couldn't imagine what could have happened! I was shaking like a leaf it was such a horrible scream! Okay, I'm over it. :) This is a small pic of what she probably looked like as she was screaming.

Lots of Happenings - some sad, some not!

Well, where shall I start? Perhaps with the fun. Mitzcli was, again, sprayed. This time we were armed and ready! Immediately grab a towel; immediately open can (this time it took cans :) ) of tomato sauce (by the way, I went out and bought a can of tomato soup...this works best); and we were able to keep the pesky smell away. We're getting to be quite good at this!

Now for some sad news. We had to put little Oreo to sleep...on a Saturday, March 8. She had woken us up on Friday morning (about 4 am.) with a scream of pain. When I went to check on her, she was lying on her side in bed...I gently picked up her head and she did not respond. She was breathing very shallowly. I told Guy she would probably not last the next few hours. We went back to bed. In the morning when we woke up, she was up and eating. We were sitting watching TV when we heard the scream again. This time she was lying on the some newspapers and I gently picked her up and knew this had to be the time. We called the VET and were able to bring her in at 10. I handed her to the Doctor, and immediately broke down in tears. Guy had to lead me out. I was able to come in and kiss her little head and knew that she was finally not in pain. She was a good dog. It was extremely hard to tell my mom-in-law, but we had to.
