The Munguia Clan

Here's a rare picture: Dad and his siblings: Tio Pancho, Dad, below him Tia Petra, Tia Josephina, Grandma Paula, Tio Manuel. My dad was soooo young looking then. Don't know the year, but it had to be in the 60s since everyone was still alive. Dad was the youngest in that family, by the way. From what I understand, he was born 14 years after the last one was born (which was Manuel, I believe.) They lost their father before Dad was born (heart attack.) My Grandma Paula died at the age of 99. She had suffered a broken hip and did not recuperate after that. Jr., many thanks for sending this photo. It brought tears to my eyes.

WOW... I have so few photos of Grampa Charlie, and this one hit me really, really hard. I miss him so much, even though it's been so long ago since he passed away. I think about him all the time... I call Cortez "Guero" (He told his Grampa that I am the only one that's allowed to do that when my Dad attempted it. Yesterday, he asked me what my name was when I was little, like him (He obviously only knows me as "Papa"). My answer?

"Cabron."

Hey... that's what Grampa Charlie called me when I was growing up. For the life of me, I don't know why I never assumed that was my real name!

Thanks again for the photo!

LOL that is funny...such happy memories. Your uncle Jr. calls me "guera" in memory of what Dad used to call me, too.
