Grampa Charlie was, without a doubt, one of the most upright and kindest people I have ever been blessed to know. I was doubly blessed to have been his first grandson.
I miss Grampa Charlie terribly, and think about him every day. I hope that God can help me to someday be one-tenth the man that he was. When I see my Dad spending time with Cortez, teaching him to sketch, I think of the many hours that I would spend with Grampa, learning to do "oil changes" on my blue and red plastic convertible on orange jack-stands that Grampa showed me how to use. When Grampa did something on the yellow Dodge Dart, I would mimic him on my Blue and Red plastic pedal-car.
I idolized my Grampa when I was four, and I will still idolize him when I am a Grampa someday.
I've been cancer free for nine years now. Been married for 19 years. Just moved back to Missouri City, Texas and back at work (same job) at Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, Executive Office.

Sending you hugs. Ask Mundo. Pretty sure he has pictures somewhere at the house
