I'm baaaacck!!!!!!!!!!! Senor Pepi La Pew is back and if you recall the cartoon: he was always in love with some cat. Remember? Well, Pepi must have seen Astro (my female Siamese) and fallen in love...because he sprayed her. Yikes. I was pretty sure (at the time) that Astro must have hidden herself underneath a step stool I put in her "cage" so she can sit atop it and view the backyard. I found her hiding underneath it. Poor baby. And, how do you bathe a cat? Very carefully.

Cody and Katy
Here's a new picture of Miss Katy and Master Cody. I pray they will look back at this picture someday and know that what's so important in this life is how we treat our own family...to always love each other and help each other out BEFORE ANYONE ELSE!, meaning that our family comes first -- which we tend to forget once we get out in the world and meet others.
Here's a picture of little Cortez before he left for Germany with his parents. He's playing with Grandma Mary's little back scratcher...while she sits back and pulls her hair out! LOLOL Seriously, I'm sure they're both having a grand time. He and his parents will be soooo missed. We pray they'll hurry back for a visit.

Hurricane Ike
We got home on Tuesday, September 16 and found our home intact. I will send pictures later of what our yard looks like. We lost one branch in our front yard. Thank God we had trimmed that tree considerably...it fell on a cactus we needed to get rid of anyway!
The backyard is a mess. We lost a tree that was in a corner...it fell over the elephant ears we had growing right in front of it. It narrowly missed another tree in front of it, which if it had brought it along, would have landed on our sunroom or maybe the kitchen. We lost the entire back yard fence...pulled right out along with the concrete that was poured to hold the main posts. Wow. The side fence that separates the next door neighbor fell. The other neighbor's fence (separating our houses) was okay.
We had some leakage in our sunroom. Our ficus plant, which we planted when we first moved into this house, was uprooted -- laying across the length of the sunroom. Guy thinks we can replant since some of the roots were still attached. But this is the weird thing: I had a small statue of St. Francis of Assisi, about 15 inches high, standing a top of a slab of tile (to keep it straight). In his hands he holds 2 small doves, which DO NOT EVER stay in place. I have to keep propping them into his hands. Right behind him is a pretty cross -- one that's supposed to go in gardens (I bought it at Hobby Lobby.) I think Elda gave me St. Francis. Anyway, here's the kicker: Ficus is down by the roots. St. Francis is left standing, hold doves, with cross still intact! Is that not unbelievable?
Reminds me also of when Hurricane Rita hit our home in Lake Charles, too. Took out all of our back yard fence but kept the side fence, with a large cross stuck to the fence, intact. Wow.
More news to follow I guess. Love ya'll.

Deon Robinson
We wish to send condolences to Jennifer Davis-Robinson on the passing of her husband, Deon. Deon was 45 years old and passed away on Saturday, September 13. He was to have celebrated a birthday on September 21st. Deon was a good husband and father to Cody and Katy. We know he is sitting in the presence of the Almighty and raising his arms to praise Him.

Mitzcli Davis' double
Israel and Katriana's wedding
Here we have Elda, Me, my sister-in-law, Petra, and Teresita. We attended Israel and Kat's wedding on Sunday, June 27th. And what a great wedding it was! Bride and groom were awesome (I was going to say radiant, but that would only be the bride and not exactly how the groom looked...how about handsome?) Here's wishing the best to them: may they always find happiness in everything they do with each other; may they always look to each other and to God for any help; and may they never forget the love they have for each other -- always remember the first time you fell in love.

GrandKids Visiting!
Yes, folks, we got 'em! Two of 'em. How they have grown! One has freckles stretching across his nose...cute as a button, plays a mean video game, loves baseball and good at it too; and the other one! Cute smile, expressive eyes, quick wit (or so I think) great mimic (like her YaYa ;) and questions everything! Cody and Katy are here! And boy, am I tired! I got to work this morning...thank God Guy took them to school for me, but when I walked in to work, I plopped down on my chair and said, "Whew. I'm so glad to be at work so I can rest." Just kidding folks. Seriously, they are the reasons one stays so young at heart and sometimes (not always) in body. They give us our exercise. They keep our heart pumping. They teach us again, but in my case...a very difficult lesson!...to be more patient and more diplomatic. Thank God for Guy, who is really the one who does that part. Me, I just yell. I wouldn't be YaYa if I didn't! Love those kids. Welcome Cody and Katy. We love you. I shall post pictures in the coming weeks of these tykes.

In Memory of Little Jasmine
My sweet, dear Jasmine passed away on Monday, April 28. I came home and found her gone. She was approx. 13 or 14 years old. She leaves behind her terrible brother, Mitzcli, the Aztec czar, who lived only to bother her constantly, but she thrived on that. She also leaves behind little Astro. Mitzcli will miss her terribly, as he has already showed us...he wonders where Jasmine is when he goes outside, he looks behind him to see if she is there. When we drop him treats, he looks around to see if she is there so he can grab hers. She joins her beloved (okay, that is stretching it a bit) Boomer in Heaven. Will miss her lots. Goodbye my sweet angel.

Rude Awakening
Okay, don't know what happened here, but at about 2:30 a.m. Guy and I were awakened by the screamings of little Astro, little quiet Astro, the perfect little lady. And I could hear her "hitting" something while she was screaming! I jumped out of bed (my whole life seems to be me jumping out of bed, etc.)and saw her standing in front of the door leading outside to our backyard. Looking out the window...(it's our sunroom. I couldn't imagine what could have happened! I was shaking like a leaf it was such a horrible scream! Okay, I'm over it. :) This is a small pic of what she probably looked like as she was screaming.

Lots of Happenings - some sad, some not!
Well, where shall I start? Perhaps with the fun. Mitzcli was, again, sprayed. This time we were armed and ready! Immediately grab a towel; immediately open can (this time it took cans :) ) of tomato sauce (by the way, I went out and bought a can of tomato soup...this works best); and we were able to keep the pesky smell away. We're getting to be quite good at this!
Now for some sad news. We had to put little Oreo to sleep...on a Saturday, March 8. She had woken us up on Friday morning (about 4 am.) with a scream of pain. When I went to check on her, she was lying on her side in bed...I gently picked up her head and she did not respond. She was breathing very shallowly. I told Guy she would probably not last the next few hours. We went back to bed. In the morning when we woke up, she was up and eating. We were sitting watching TV when we heard the scream again. This time she was lying on the some newspapers and I gently picked her up and knew this had to be the time. We called the VET and were able to bring her in at 10. I handed her to the Doctor, and immediately broke down in tears. Guy had to lead me out. I was able to come in and kiss her little head and knew that she was finally not in pain. She was a good dog. It was extremely hard to tell my mom-in-law, but we had to.

My Other Big Brother - Jr.
I just realized that I let my brother Jr's birthday slip by...a bit late I might add. So sorry. If memory serves me right, I did send you a birthday, card, didn't I? January 20th was Jr.'s birthday and I didn't visit my site to announce it. My bad. By the way, he is doing a great job of handling the taking care of my mother. He takes her to doctor's appts., out to dinner, etc. THX for everything you, Rosie, and your kids do.

Mitzcli's Recent happening!
Word to the wise, thank God for tomato sauce!!! And the fact that I had bought those little suckers and happened to have them.
I had gotten up because the Mitzcli woke me up. As I groggly walked towards the living room to let him out, I noticed the front door wide open; a siloutte of a pretty dark cat in front of the door...just staring at the open door. Dog heads straight for door, probably thinking: "Oooh, what's out there?" I yell, "Stop!" He does. Cat skeedaddles in opposite direction. I shut and lock door. Climb back in bad (and quite forgetting why I had originally gotten up in the first place!) telling Guy, "You forgot to lock the door." Dog immediately jumps off bed...again. Wants out. Okay by me; I'm awake anyway! Open door, see him immediately (yes, this all happens immediately!; not in slow motion.) growls at something just to the right of the door, which I always close becuase the cat will want to wander out, too. Oh, my! He's seen a cat in our back yard and has it surrounded...but the poor cat is not "skeedaddling." (I love that word) I open door and yell, "No, Mitzcli, stop!" and notice that this beautiful, sleek, black "cat" also has a cute little black and white striped tail! (think: Pepi LaPew) Of course, my dashing, tough, I-will-save-you Mommy cutie is yes, immediately, sprayed. He skeedaddles away from the cutie-pie: I yell "Guy! Mitzcli has a skunk cornered!" Poor Guy is brought back to life from a very deep sleep! I open door, tell Mitzcli to come in; he runs in (and here I will add, not smelling too pretty :) ) IMMEDIATELY runs to the couch and starts rubbing around on the couch and my sweater! I yell no! He runs into bedroom (could this possibly get any funnier?) and begins to roll around the bed -- my side! Guy yells, "what do we do?" I say, "wait a minute...tomato soup" but then I wanted to bash my brains in. I didn't want to use my coveted La Madeleine tomato soup (put your own choice Spanish words here!) then I remembered: tomato sauce is almost the same thing! Guy cannot believe he is hearing this: keeps asking me, "are you sure?" I say yes, I am sure. We open can...(after I tell him what do we have to lose?) he starts (to the tune of New York, New York!) spreading the goo...rinses him off, sprays a little (and let me warn you now folks, do not try this at home!) Euphoria (Patricia, you know what this is! :) and man, does he smell semi-good. I will never wear Euphoria again.
All's well that ends well! Mitzcli then crawled in right next to me and stayed there the whole night. Needless to say, I slept very little...I even thought about getting up to write this or visiting The Hobbit on PS2 and starting from the very beginning. Well, that's it folks. I just had to share the good times Guy and I have here in Missouri City,,,where the dogs are dogs and the skunks come right up to your house and look in. I really think that skunk must have seen Astro (the cat) looking out the window beckening it towards the house. It could happen! Have a wonderful Monday...I know I will!

Welcome Home Israel!
Welcome Home Israel. Israel arrived in Fort Hood, Texas Sunday, Jan. 6. I wish I could have been there, but couldn't make it. We're hoping he and someone special may come for a short visit to our home soon! If he can stand dogs and cats. We're looking forward to seeing what the future brings him. Love you! (I couldn't have posted a cute picture of you when you were a baby, but decided not to. :o)
