El Paso, TX, Happy Birthday, Mrs. Ruiz!

Had a quick and really great visit in El Paso to help celebrate Petra Ruiz Munguia's mom's birthday...99 years old. We celebrated mass in her honor and then ended the night with a great party also in her honor. the food was great. Brisket, rice and beans,
pasta salad, green salad, tres leches cake and a great looking cake, as you can see:
Also, did find some time to relax...on a great reading chair in Petra and Geno's house:
I had a great visit. It was great to see everybody: Teresita, Ben, Christy, EZ!!!Geno, Petra and her family, some of whom came all the way from California.

Tyler Perry in person

Wow, got to see one of Tyler Perry's plays, a brand new one that he's touring in...and it was so wonderful! Wow, the Toyota Center was packed...he gave a great show, the singing, the message, everything was wonderful. Went to eat at Churrascos afterwards. The food, as always, was great. Yum.

Shreveport LA

Had a great time in Shreveport. The food was amazing! We've found a great restaurant that serves the best food we've had in a long time. This has been our second visit to it. I ordered an appetizer as my main meal: flatbread with pesto, prime rib, argula, purple onions (thinly sliced) and sprinkled with olive oil. Guy had a steak, which we shared. Of course, after dinner we have to mingle with the other casino guests.

With Tragedy we share time with loved ones

Unfortunately, when tough times crop up, we find ourselves coming face to face with our own mortality. We thank God that He has given us ways to express our sadness with seeing the faces of the innocents, the ones we love, our family. During our time of mourning the passing of Pinky, we were able to visit and spend time with our loved ones. Children make our mourning less stressful. Below are pictures of Cody, Katy, a bit of fun, the Munguia's from El Paso, to name a few.

J. J. "Pinky" Davis, June 18, 2010

Guy's father, Pinky Davis, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 18th. We ask for prayers for his wife, Esther Ruth, Guy's siblings, Miki Denise and Michael Scott. Rest in peace Dad, and may you be jubilant in the rest you've found at the mercy seat of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We shall see you soon.
